The Northwest Ski Club Council
takes great pleasure in introducing you to the 1999 Far West Ski Association Council Woman
of the Year, our very own Diane Hicks! Diane, a member of Skiyente Ski Club for
thirty-five years, was given this honor at the recent Far West Ski Association Convention,
held at Manhattan Beach, CA in early June.
This prestigious
award is given annually at the FWSA Convention. The candidates are judged on
applications submitted before the convention, as well as an interview that takes place at
the convention itself. Points are awarded for everything from the candidates’
participation in their local clubs to number of ski areas visited to participation
on regional and national levels. The combination of points awarded for the
application and the interview process determines the winner. This is only the third
year our council has submitted nominees, so you can imagine our pride when Diane was
selected!
