NWSCC’s Woman of the Year for 2003 is Debbi Kor – a dedicated, tirelessly hard working person who has contributed greatly to her Ski Club, now Plaza-Edgeset Ski Club, since she first joined Plaza in 1983.

Throwing herself immediately into the spirit of the club, Debbi helped set up the legendary Indoor Winter Olympics at the old Ski Ramp in the winter of 1984. For Plaza, she “did” the club newsletter for 4 years (including typing it); raced PACRAT for 4 years until a back injury ended her racing career; has led numerous Winter and Spring club trips to Mt. Bachelor over the years; and for the last six years has been the Non-Ski Activities Director, planning a multitude of fun activities for club members, including parties, wine tours, and theater events, even taking the club out of state for some of the events. Debbi is now organizing her first club out-of-state ski trip, going to Alpine Meadows, Lake Tahoe, in January 2004.

With all these activities, it is hard to believe that Debbi also has time for NWSCC and FWSA. She has been the Plaza-Edgeset representative to NWSCC for 4 years, and attended her first FWSA Convention in Phoenix several years ago. In 2002, Debbi was elected to the position of V.P. of Development for FWSA, and is now in her second year, with her title being changed to V.P. of Marketing. Debbi has the enviable duty of attending the ski shows in Oregon and Washington, and the big SIA show in Las Vegas held in January, making contacts with the ski industry to seek benefits for all club members and prizes for FWSA Ski Week and the Convention. Her success benefits all members of all FWSA clubs! Debbi is also on the Advisory Committee planning FWSA’s 75th Anniversary celebration to be held at the 2005 Convention in Los Angeles.

On a personal note, Debbi celebrated a very special birthday this year by running in the Paris Marathon ... and finishing! Watch for much more out of this dynamo of a woman in the future!
