CLUB FACTS
The Oregon Nordic Club has chapters
throughout the state. The Portland Chapter was founded in
1968 and has over 325 members.
EVENTS
Year-round club activities include
weekend ski trips, back packs trips, car camping, weekend bike
trips, novice ski lessons and day trips - Nordic skiing (track
and trail), backcountry skiing, skijoring, snowshoeing, hiking,
paddling, and bicycling. The club works with the US Forest
Service to develop new cross country trails, maintains existing
trails in Northern Oregon and Southern Washington and is
currently working on building two day-use winter shelters on ski
trails.
MEETINGS/DUES
Annual dues are $27 for a single or $33
for a family. A general membership meeting is held the
first Tuesday of each month at the Multnomah Art Center, 7688 SW
Capitol Highway, Portland, with a potluck beginning at 6:30 PM.
At 7:30 PM there are announcements and a program related to
Nordic skiing or other outdoor adventures appealing to guests
and club members. Meetings are free, and non-members are
welcome.
