CLUB FACTS
The Cascade Prime Timers Ski Club is for
downhill and cross country skiers age 50 and over who enjoy the
camaraderie of skiing with friends and share a spirit of
adventure. Founded in 1987 as the Mt. Hood Chapter of Over The
Hill Gang, the club currently has over 330 members, with about
an equal number of singles and couples.
EVENTS
The club usually offers 10-12 trips to
ski areas in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. An active group of
cross-country skiers joins many trips and has additional
activities as well. Year-round club activities include hiking
almost every Friday outside of ski season, an annual picnic,
camping trip, rodeo attendance, bicycling, canoeing, sailing,
backpacking, rafting, bridge, ethnic dining, etc.
This socially conscious group contributes
to a number of local ski-related charities, including the NWSSF
scholarship fund, Friends of Timberline, the Silcox Hut, Mt.
Hood Cultural Center and Museum, the Tea Cup Lake Oregon Nordic
Club, and the Mt. Hood Ski Patrol.
MEETINGS/DUES
Dues are $30 for singles and $50 for
couples at the same address, with a $5 application fee. Social
meetings are held the last Monday of most months; prospective
members are welcome. Members meet for midweek skiing during ski
season, and snowshoe most Thursdays.
