The Summit at Snoqualmie MDP Proposal has been approved by the
US Forest Service.  Read the Press Release: 11/21/08

New chairlifts will be added.  Existing chairlifts and trails will be realigned along the natural fall-line. The new Alpental chairlift will access existing backcountry terrain in International Bowl. Two new chairlifts will be developed at Summit East to increase the amount of advanced intermediate terrain and provide access to redeveloped crossover trails between Summit Central and Summit East. The backside chairlift at Summit East will be realigned and upgraded, and new trails will be developed.

Re-vegetation efforts will  improve separation and create distinct boundaries between beginner and more advanced user groups. Core beginner areas will be developed at Alpental, Summit West, and Summit Central. Crossover trails will be redeveloped to provide increased connectivity between base areas.

Guest services facilities at Silver Fir, Summit Central, Alpental, and Summit West (including the Thunderbird Lodge at Summit West) will be improved.  Mountaintop restaurants are planned for the top of Mt. Hyak and at the summit of Alpental.

More parking will be created at Summit West, Silver Fir, and the Snowflake Tubing Center.

How will the MDP Proposal improve my experience at The Summit at Snoqualmie?

  • Improved on-hill connectivity between base areas
  • Expanded guest service facilities to reduce base area congestion
  • Additional parking to meet projected growth and decrease reliance on shuttle service
  • Additional intermediate and intermediate-advanced terrain at Summit East
  • Provide year-round direct access to up-mountain facilities and terrain at Alpental
