All
NWSCC member clubs are eligible to participate in PACRAT, and may
sign up teams of up to ten members. Each PACRAT racer is placed in
one of seven skill categories (seven for men and seven for women)
based upon their individual ski ability and time in completing the
course. Our participants range for novice skiers and racers to
experts. Throughout the season, each racer competes against his or
her own time - and the other racers within their category. It is
to a team's benefit to have a wide variety of skiing levels
represented, because a beginner racer can (and often does) earn as
many points as an experienced racer. Team points are tallied and
winning teams are announced at the annual awards banquet and party
at the end of the season (affectionately known as the "Rat
Attack").
We have a great time with parties
and door prizes after every party, and an awards banquet at the
end of the season. Through NWSCC, PACRAT is a member of the Far
West Racing Association, which holds its race championships in
April each year. All PACRAT racers qualify to compete against
racers from other councils in California, Arizona, and Nevada. |
