NWSCC Charitable Contributions
Committee:
It is with great pride that we announce NWSCC's formation
of a Charitable Contributions Committee. The Committee was
formed this past year in order to research and designate nonprofit
organizations with an interest in ski and snowsport activities to
which the council may wish to contribute. NWSCC would like to
give back to the community by becoming involved, both personally and
monetarily, in organizations which have exhibited continued interest
and support of individuals involved in the "mountains experience."
NWSCC for many years contributed scholarships to junior racer
organizations in Oregon.
NWSCC has contributed two
scholarships to outstanding junior racers (see
below). We are now expanding our horizons to include nonprofit organizations involved in skiing and snowsport
activities, such as the Mt. Hood Museum, Portland Parks and
Recreation, and the Northwest Snow Sports Foundation.
If you are involved with such an organization and would like to work
with NWSCC, please contact a Council board member. |

NWSCC is Committed to Community Service:
We provide funding to several organizations, as well as providing funds to
support future Olympic racers from our area.
Have a Heart!
One of the best things about NWSCC clubs is that they’re so
generous. Take a close look at many of the clubs in the Northwest
Ski Club Council, and you’ll find loads of charities or persons
who have benefited from monies or volunteers. The activities are
as varied as the clubs themselves.

Northwest Snow Sports
Foundation:
NWSSF was incorporated in 2000 as a charitable foundation (separate
from NWSCC) whose mission is to provide scholarships to promising
junior snow racers who are capable of a great future in their
discipline. The founding members were active participants in the
NWSCC Scholarship Committee, which oversaw the selection of
scholarship winners for NWSCC for many years. NWSCC, while
nonprofit, is not a charitable organization for tax purposes, and
the committee was encouraged to take the steps necessary to obtain
charitable tax status in order to appeal to more potential donors to
this worthy cause. For more, see
