Overview
|

The Northwest Ski Club Council is made up of 35 clubs from the
states of Oregon and Washington, and represents nearly 10,000 Alpine
and Nordic skiers and snowboarders.
NWSCC club members enjoy many benefits, including discounted lift
tickets at Northwest resorts, terrific travel bargains, a
recreational racing league, discounts from many ski industry
retailers, and the opportunity to participate in the Council’s many
events.
NWSCC invites every member club to appoint a club representative
to attend the monthly Council meetings and act as liaison between
their club and the Council. NWSCC meetings feature guest speakers
from the ski and snowboard industry, regional ski areas, media, and
resort properties, and also are the main source for information
regarding the Council’s activities, which include trips, racing
schedules, public affairs information, and safety seminars, in
addition to the Council’s special events. Council meetings begin
with a social hour at 6 p.m. and the meeting begins at 7 p.m.
Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of every month.
Everyone is invited to attend and encouraged to get involved.
See
NWskiers' Notes Newsletter for day and time of the next Council
Meeting.

Outreach |
NWSCC works closely with government entities such as the U.S. Forest
Service, the Oregon Department of Transportation, as well as
organizations like the Oregon Snowsports Industry Association
and the Pacific Northwest Ski Areas Association, providing input regarding
decisions that will ultimately affect skiers and snowboarders with
regard to the roads we travel, the mountains we ski/board on, the
resorts we visit, and the rules we use to share both effectively
with the non-skiing/non-snowboarding public.
Visit Northwest Snowsports Advocates and
get up-to-date information on the improvements being requested at
our local ski areas and learn what YOU can do to help! Join the
NWskiers Advocates email group. YOU can do something which is vital
to the future of the ski industry and your favorite ski areas.
NWSCC is committed to community
service, and provides funding to
several organizations, such as the Mt. Hood Museum, as well as
providing funds to support future Olympic racers from our area. The
Council is one of ten member councils of the
Far West Ski
Association , “The Voice of the Western Skier,” as well as the National Ski Council Federation
.

Our Member
Clubs |
NWSCC has a wide variety of ski and snowboard
clubs that offer something for everyone! There are large clubs
with as many as 2000 members and smaller clubs of 10-350 members
offering ski trips, parties, and year round activities! Club members
include winter enthusiasts who participate in all disciplines of
skiing and snowboarding.
One of the best things about belonging to a ski club is taking
advantage of ski trips offered to places you might not travel to on
your own–and the chance to make many new friends!
All NWSCC club members are able to participate in our
PACRAT ski racing league,
NWSCC-sponsored trips, Far West Ski Association trips, and many
shared activities with clubs other
than the one (or more) they belong to. Club members may also obtain
special discounts from ski areas and retail shops that are not
available to the general public, easily saving the cost of
membership dues. As NWSCC grows, all club members reap the benefits
of enhanced group buying power.
NWSCC
provides Public Service for
junior competitive snow sport enthusiast. Our website has a huge
listing of links, and a guide to NW ski Resorts.
Your club may be interested in our document related to building a ski club website, and
how to better administer your club.
