What is NWSCC?

NWSCC, organized in 1979, represents 25 ski and snowboard clubs and 13 charitable associate members with 10,000 members in Oregon, Washington, and Hawaii. Our clubs offer a wide variety of snowsport activities, as well as many summer and social activities. If you like recreational racing, we have an alpine race league for you. If you like discounted travel programs and deals on lift tickets, we’ve got the destinations and member benefits for you. If you like unique and fun group activities like hiking, biking, sailing, running, tours, volunteer charity work, and parties, we’ve got all that too. There is a club for you. Just look through our website and find out who we are – and what we can offer you.

NWSCC meets monthly during ski season, currently using Zoom. We invite speakers for lively meetings with varying themes and guest speakers. Topics include weather, travel, safety, ski resort news, club activities, community service and public affairs. NWSCC participates in regional ski shows.

When you join any NWSCC club, you are automatically a member of Far West Ski Association (www.fwsa.org). FWSA offers a member benefits program whereby you receive discounts on lodging, rentals, and ski gear. Each year it holds its annual Convention–complete with optional activities, educational sessions, silent auction, travel expo, multi-media presentation, awards banquet and business meeting. Skiing and snowboarding athletes and legends are special guests. The Convention in 2023 will be held in Boise June 15-18, hosted by Intermountain Ski Council and Bogus Basin Ski Club, along with a little help from Arizona Ski Council.  !

Club membership has its benefits! Opportunities abound for ski trips with exceptional offerings of location, lodging and lift tickets. You’ll have fun seeing and skiing new resorts and meeting new friends. You can also take advantage of the FWSA trips including Ski Week (Steamboat, CO, January 27-Feb. 3, 2024); Mini Ski Week (Copper Mountain, CO, March 2024); International Ski Week (Madonna di Campiglio, Italy, February 25-March 10, 2024, with an extension to Milan, Verona and La Spezia, Italy; the annual Dive Trip in September/October each year, this year to Little Cayman October 7-14, 2023; cruises; and international “adventure” trips, with Central/East Africa planned for 2024 and the Galapagos Islands for 2026. Many trips allow you to bring your children. Don’t hesitate to join a club and get in on great travel deals and the many social events that clubs hold.

NWSCC is affiliated with Pacific Northwest Ski Areas Association (PNSAA), the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA), the National Ski Council Federation (NSCF), and Ski Oregon (OSIA). We’re very proud to work with these organizations, as they are dedicated to providing and enhancing your experiences on the slopes of our resorts.

Our NWSCC clubs are very passionate about charitable and community outreach. Among the organizations we support are Hope On The Slopes/Ski & Ride For A Cure, Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation, Mt. Hood Cultural Center & Museum, Mt. Hood Ski Education Foundation, Mt. Hood Ski Patrol, Northwest Trail Alliance, Oregon Adaptive Sports, Oregon Cancer Ski Out, Outdoors For All Foundation, Sisters in Action Sports and Ski to Defeat ALS. In addition, we have clubs in NWSCC that support the FWSA Athletic Scholarship Program–raising funds to support junior racers.
